Student-athletes participated in the Illini Leadership Academy first session this past week. Jeff Janssen from Janssen Sport Leadership, the nation's top sport leadership expert, guided two levels of students through the program that focused on dealing with trusting teammates.

Janssen met with all four groups, Emerging Leaders, Veteran Leaders, Leadership 360, and coaches over the course of 2 days. Through role play and discussions, each group went over the different scenarios and lead each other through a blind-folded obstacle course.

As one of the nation's premier collegiate athletic leadership development programs, the Illinois Leadership Academy would develop, challenge, and support student athletes and coaches in their continual quest to become world-class leaders in academics, athletics, and life.
