Scott Langley: Ready to answer any questions you guys have! sitting in Demirjian Indoor Facility getting ready to leave for Big Tens |
| Blaine (Champaign): What is it going to take to bring home a three-peat this weekend? |
Scott Langley: Its going to take us sticking to our game plan and enjoying the challenge. To win Big Tens, everybody on the team needs to play well so it will take a total team effort |
| Frank (Urbana): What do you remember about playing with Matt Hoffman and Zach Barlow? How much do you still communicate with them? |
Scott Langley: Zach and Matt were great teammates and good guys. We still keep in touch quite a bit and follow all of their events on various tours now that they have both turned pro. The Hoff is actually in town for a few days so if you keep your eye out you might see him! |
| el capitan: are you guys gonna win big tens |
| Matt (Chicago): How far does Chris DeForest drive the ball? How does that compare to yourself? |
| Michael (Winnetka): Who are some of the big names you've had a chance to play with in major events? |
Scott Langley: Ive been fortunate to play with Tom Watson, Davis Love, Steve Stricker, Scott Verplank, and Justin Leonard in US Open practice rounds |
| Mike (Chicago): Congrats on another strong season. What brand of clubs do you carry in your bag? how often do you rotate between new drivers and irons? |
Scott Langley: Thanks. I play all ping clubs, and I will usually switch out wedges every 8 months to a year or so. Other than that, I try not to switch too much, gotta stick with what works! |
| Pete (Tulsa, Okla): Who are some of the players you've enjoyed playing against/with in amateur golf and why? |
Scott Langley: I've been fortunate to make some good friends playing golf as long as I have. I've enjoyed playing with peter uihlein because he is one of my friends and a very good player. Also, John Peterson and John Hahn are two of my good buddies from the amateur golf circuit. |
| Jeff (Ballwin, Mo.): What are your plans for this summer? Are you going to play in some PGA events? When will you turn pro? |
Scott Langley: I am planning to stay amateur this summer in hopes of making the walker cup team in september. Hopefully, I will get a couple opportunities to play in some PGA events and gain more experience playing at that level. |
| V??ronique Pieters: No questions, ...just to wish you and the team a lot of success from
Belgium-family! |
| Bill (Danville, Ill.): What is the single best advice you've learned from Mike Small in your four years at Illinois? |
| Mark (Rock Island): Are you planning to play in the John Deere Classic this year? It would be cool for you to be there with all the other Illinois players. |
Scott Langley: That is definitely one of the events on my radar for this summer. I would love to play and hopefully will know soon if i get the chance to play. Either way you guys should all go out there for Illini Day on Friday! |
| Thomas (Sea Island, Ga.): What types of courses suit your game well? |
Scott Langley: I tend to play better on more difficult golf courses where par is at a premium. I'm not an overly long hitter and I tend to hit it pretty straight off the tee, so short, tight golf courses usually fit my eye well. Trying to get to the point where my game suits every course! |
| Brian (Mahomet): How much did your success last summer affect your golf career? |
Scott Langley: Last summer gave me a lot of confidence in my game as well as a lot of cool opportunities. It's in the past now, though, so I'm going to try and do my best to keep going forward and help the team win a big ten title this week! |
Scott Langley: thanks to all for the questions! looking forward to this weekend and hopefully coming back to champaign with some hardware! Go Illini. |
