Illinois opens exhibition play tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Assembly Hall, hosting the Wayne State (Nebraska) Wildcats.
Illinois returns eight letterwinners from last year's squad that reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament, was 20-14 overall, and finished fourth in the Big Ten with a 9-9 record. The Illini also welcome seven newcomers to the roster, including six true-freshmen.
Wayne State compiled a 13-14 record last season and finished eighth with a 9-13 mark in the Northern Sun, a 14-team conference consisting of Division II schools from Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Tickets for tonight's game are $22 each and are available at the Illinois Athletics Ticket Office, located at the Assembly Hall North Box Office.
