CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
The Illinois women's tennis team debuted at No. 25 in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings released Tuesday. The Illini finished the 2010 season at No. 24 in the final rankings and were one of three Big Ten teams to open the year in the top 25, as Michigan checked in at No. 8, followed by Northwestern at No. 9.
Individually, sophomore Rachael White came in at No. 100 in the national singles rankings and 15th in doubles with freshman Allison Falkin. In Midwest region rankings, the duo checked in at No. 3 in doubles, while White was ranked No. 14 in singles.

The Illini open the season next weekend at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla., Jan. 15-17, and will take on players from No. 28 South Florida, No. 50 Purdue, No. 66 North Texas, No. 70 North Florida, Akron, Stetson, Northwestern State, Louisville and Florida Gulf Coast.
