ROCHESTER, Minn. -
Three Illinois baseball players were named postseason All-Stars by the Northwoods League Tuesday, as catcher Adam Davis, first baseman Matt Dittman and shortstop Josh Parr all earned the honor. Dittman finished fifth in the league in average (.332) and Davis was sixth at .328, while Parr ranked seventh in the NWL in hits with 77. The three Illini mark the most NWL postseason All-Stars for any college team, with California and Oklahoma State each having two players named to the list.
Dittman's Rochester Honkers begin their best-of-three NWL North Division playoff series against the St. Cloud River Bats Tuesday night in Rochester, while Davis' and Parr's Madison Mallards team narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing one game behind the Wisconsin Woodchucks for the final playoff berth in the NWL South Division.
