Champaign, Ill. -
Orange Krush, the student support group of the Fighting Illini basketball team, has earned national acclaim for its work as a charity foundation. Each fall, Orange Krush distributes the money it raised from the previous basketball season. In 2009, the Orange Krush Foundation allocated a total of $150,000 across 52 charities and toward the endowment of Lou Henson Coaching Development Fund.
Orange Krush is still accepting grant applications for this fall, with a deadline Friday (Aug. 13). Any organization that qualifies as a 501C-3 is eligible to apply. Interested organizations should visit IlliniPride.com to download the grant application, or email Dan Gilpin for more information.
