Lilburn, Ga. - University of Illinois head coach Jolette Law has been named an at large member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Board of Directors for the 2010-11 season. Law and the rest of the Board of Directors, as well as the Executive Committee, are meeting this weekend in Atlanta, Ga., to discuss issues relevant to the women's basketball community.
"I'm both honored and excited to help serve the women's basketball community as a member of the WBCA Board of Directors," Law said. "I look forward to working with some of the top minds in the game to help grow our sport."
The WBCA Board of Directors develops policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of the organization. They also monitor the organization's financial health, programs and overall performance and provide the Chief Executive Officer with the resources to meet the needs of those the organization serves.
The Board of Directors is led by President and University of Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Law will also represent Region 6 as part of the WBCA State Farm All-America Committee for the next three seasons. The State Farm Coaches' All-America Teams honors the 10 best collegiate women's basketball players at each collegiate level (NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, JC/CC).
