Illinois senior Scott Langley tied for 15th at the Western Refining All-America Classic held at the El Paso (Texas) Country Club and presented by the Sun Bowl Association. The field includes Division I All-Americans from the 2010 season plus the 2010 NCAA champions from Division II and Division III.

Langley shot a final round three-under par 68 on Tuesday after shooting 73 and 70 in the first two rounds on Monday to finish the tournament at -2.

University of San Diego's Alex Ching, one of the contenders at the NCAA Championships in June, where Langley claimed the title, shot three straight 67s on the 6,864-yard par 71 course to finish at -12 and win the tournament by three strokes over J.T. Griffin of Georgia Tech and Tain Lee from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

"You come in knowing that it is going to be a great field," Langley said. "I struggled with the putter the entire tournament, but I'm happy with the way I hung in there. Overall it was a great experience playing with many of the same top players I have the past few years."

Langley is also one of 16 players to be invited to the Walker Cup practice during the first weekend in January, which will be held at the Old Memorial Club in Tampa, Fla.

"It doesn't guarantee you making the team, but it's definitely a good sign," Langley said. "I'm excited to go down the play with the guys and get to know them a little better."
