Illinois Coaches Clinic Set for Sept. 12

Aug. 23, 2009

University of Illinois head baseball coach Dan Hartleb has scheduled the 2009 Illinois baseball coaches clinic for Sept. 12, combining the clinic with a tailgate prior to that night's Illinois-Illinois State football game and a ticket to the contest. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 9 in order to secure football tickets. Coaches can register for the clinic here.

"We saw this opportunity on the schedule this year and thought the high school coaches would enjoy the opportunity to tailgate and attend the football game after our clinic," Hartleb said.

The clinic will begin with check-in at 10:30 a.m. and the first clinic session will start at 11 a.m. Topics included in the clinic will be pitching, catching, outfield, base running, conditioning, middle and corner infield play, hitting and bunting. The sessions will wrap up at approximately 4 p.m. and the tailgate prior to the football game will begin then. Those with tickets to the game can then walk to nearby Memorial Stadium for the 6 p.m. kickoff.

The clinic will be run by the Illinois coaching staff of Hartleb, associate head coach Eric Snider and assistant coach Ken Westray. The three coaches combine for 37 years of experience at Illinois.
