Lady Buckeye Invitational Results Through 36 Holes ![]()
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Illinois (621) sits in seventh place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational after 36 holes of play on Saturday. The Illini posted an opening round 313 and improved by five strokes in the afternoon with a second round 308 at the par-72 6,228-yard Scarlet Course. The youthful Illini squad finds itself just 12 shots outside the top four heading into final round action on Sunday.
Freshman Hailey Koschmann (152) led the Illini on day one, firing a 1-over 73 in the morning round. After tallying a 79 in the afternoon round, the Lake Forest, Ill., native is tied for 17th heading into play on Sunday.
Freshman Samantha Sloan (156) opened the day with a round of 80 in the morning, but followed it up with a 4-over 76 in the afternoon. Sloan, who has recorded five consecutive top-25 finishes, is currently in a tie for 30th. Freshman Nora Lucas (156) also sits in a tie for 30th after turning in an 82 in the morning and tying her career-best round with a 74 in the afternoon.
Senior Nancy Featherstone (157) tallied consistent rounds of 78 and 79, respectively, which placed her in a tie for 38th. Freshman Katelin Dilger (167) turned in rounds of 83 and 84 and is in 74th place.
Tournament host Ohio State leads the 15-team field by 10 strokes with a 36-hole total of 589. Northwestern (599), No. 22 Kent State (603), Indiana (609) and Washington (610) make up the remainder of the top five, respectively.
Ohio State's In Hong Lim paces the individual field and sits at a 2-under 142 after day one.
