Cory Steigerwald and Christina Sahly (pictured) and the rest of the U of I Women's Soccer Team, took advantage of a little downtime from their sport this week to participate in Hometown Heroes community service programs as part of their annual Illini Games competition.

On Wednesday and Thursday, soccer players visited with patients in Carle Hospital's Pediatric unit. On Friday, soccer student-athletes participated in the Kenwood Elementary Reading Day reading to kids and visiting with students over the lunch periods. On Friday night, the student-athletes headed over to Westview Elementary Spring Fun Fest to run carnival games and pass out prizes to the kids.
