KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Illini tandem of sophomore Amy Allin and junior Annie McCarthy won the doubles titles earlier today at the Western Michigan Super Challenge, as the duo went 3-0 at No. 2 doubles including an 8-6 defeat of Amanda Moccia and Maria Nivia of Western Michigan this afternoon.
The Orange and Blue also were victorious in all three singles matches against Iowa State, as Allin topped Jenna Langhorst, 7-5, 6-3, senior Christine Stromberg swept Liza Wischer, 7-5, 6-1 and classmate Kristina Minor rallied past Reka Kelemen, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (9).
The tournament wraps up tomorrow with one round of singles beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
