NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois softball was rained out on the first day of the State Farm Illinois Collegiate Softball Championship, with the Illini's game against Northern Illinois suspended in the first inning with the score tied 3-3.

Play will resume tomorrow, with the Illini's match-up against Northern Illinois starting at 10 a.m. Illinois will also face host team Illinois State at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The tournament was originally scheduled to have bracket play on Sunday, but it has been cancelled.
