Tour of Gymnastics Superstars Photo Gallery

The 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars came Illinois' Assembly Hall Wednesday night and Fighting Illini junior Sarah Schmidt had the thrill of taking the floor alongside several Olympic greats. Schmidt warmed-up with Olympic Champions Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson and then took the stage to perform her floor routine in front of approximately 4,000 fans.

The 37-stop tour featured recent Olympic stars Liukin, Johnson, Chellsie Memmel and the entire 2008 U.S. Men's Bronze medal team, including Fighting Illini great Justin Spring. Former Olympic stars Shannon Miller, Blaine Wilson, Paul and Morgan Hamm, as well as former NCAA Stars Ashley Postell and Tasha Schwikert, joined with rythmic gymnasts, dancers and musical performers Jordan Pruitt and K.S.M. for the action-packed extravaganza.

Spring, a four-time NCAA Champion and current assistant coach for the Fighting Illini, gave the crowd a thrill by proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Tori Tanney, during the show.
