  1. Illinois' offense finished 2008 averaging 438.8 total yards per game, the third-best average in school history, and the 5,266 yards of total offense rank third in school history. The Illini also averaged 28.7 points per game, which ranks seventh. Illinois ranked seventh in school history with 269.3 passing yards per game and fifth in total passing yards in a season with 3,232 yards.

  2. Junior quarterback Juice Williams broke the school record for total offense in a season with his 306 yards of offense today. He finishes 2008 with has 3,892 yards of total offense.

    li>With his 212 passing yards today, Williams also surpassed the 3,000-yard mark for just the seventh time in school history. His 3,173 passing yards this season ranks fifth in Illinois history and he is the first to reach the 3,000-yard milestone since Kurt Kittner in 2001.

  3. With his 94 yards rushing today, Williams also became the 14th player in school history and first non-running back to break the 2,000-yard mark in his career. He now has 2,050 career rushing yards.

  4. Sophomore receiver Arrelious Benn moved up to fifth on the single-season receptions list with his four catches today. He now has 67 catches this year, which trails only David Williams' three seasons (101 in 1984; 92 in 1985; 69 in 1983) and Mike Martin's 77 catches in 1982.

  5. Senior linebacker Brit Miller locked up the Big Ten tackles title with eight stops, including five solos, today. He finished the year with 132 tackles, averaging 11.0 per game.

  6. Junior receiver Jeff Cumberland caught a career-high five passes today, surpassing his previous career high of four receptions, which he recorded four times. Junior running back Daniel Dufrene also tied a career high with his six catches (vs. Missouri, 9/1/2008).

  7. Matt Eller's 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter gave him 15 for the season, which is tied for fifth in school history along with Jason Reda's 2006 season and Chris White in 1985. He also finishes the season ranked seventh on the season points scored list with 84.

  8. Sophomore safety Garrett Edwards collected a career-high six tackles today, including five solos, surpassing his previous career high of four set against Iowa on Nov. 1.

  9. Senior center Ryan McDonald tied the school record for career starts today when he made his 48th career start. He is now even with offensive lineman Tim Simpson, who played from 1988-91.
