CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
Senior defender Emily Zurrer raked in her third honor of the week, earning a spot on Soccer America's Team of the Week after the Illini produced back-to-back shutouts against Michigan State and Michigan last weekend. Zurrer also collected Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week honors on Monday.
Zurrer was crucial in leading Illinois to its 13th win in a row at home and 12th shutout during the span. The Vancouver, B.C., also tallied her third goal of the season in the 3-0 win over Michigan State on Friday.
Zurrer and the Illini hit the road this weekend, traveling to Minnesota and Iowa. Illinois will take on the Hawekeyes on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. before concluding the roadtrip against the Gophers on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m.
