Champaign, Ill. - After winning its third straight tournament, Illinois remained number one in the Golfstat computer rankings. The Illini also debuted in the Golf World /Nike Coaches' poll at no. 4.

Illinois won the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate by 18 strokes this week with a school 54-hole record score of 831. Sophomore Scott Langley won his second career tournament at -9.

The Illini are number one in the Golfstat rankings for the second straight week. Oklahoma State is second followed by USC, Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Baylor, South Carolina and Stanford.

Golf World released its first coaches' poll since the Sept. 19-21 Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational in which the Illini defeated three of the top five teams in the nation. Illinois, which had received votes in the first two polls of the year, debuted at no. 4, receiving five of the 22 first place votes from the panel of coaches. Oklahoma State, who received 16 first-place votes claimed the top spot followed by USC, Georgia (who received one first-place vote), Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Stanford, Clemson, South Carolina and Florida. Defending national champion UCLA is 13th with the other two first-place votes.

Illinois will get a chance to face many of the top teams in the country at the season-ending Isleworth Invitational. The field includes eight of the top nine teams in the country. The complete field (with their Golf World ranking) includes no. 1 Oklahoma State, no. 2 USC, no. 3 Georgia, no. 4 Illinois, no. 6 Alabama, no. 7 Stanford, no. 8 Clemson, no. 9 South Carolina, no. 13 UCLA, no. 15 Texas, no. 18 Georgia Tech, no. 20 Indiana, no. 24 LSU, Arizona, host Central Florida, Charlotte, Kentucky, and Texas Tech.
