CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois men's and women's tennis teams concluded another successful Alumni Weekend Sept. 28-29, as former and current Illini joined in for a weekend of tennis and Illinois football at the 2007 event. Overall, 19 former players returned to Champaign for a weekend of community with the Illini tennis family, which for some marked a return to the University of Illinois campus for the first time in years.

The weekend encompassed various singles and doubles matches on Friday, followed by an Alumni celebration Friday night and an Alumni tailgate put on by the IFUND Association before the Orange and Blue football game Saturday afternoon. Overall, a fun weekend was capped off by an Illinois football upset over No. 21 Penn State, 27-20.

This year's guest list included Kevin Anderson (2007), James Appleman (1975), Jerry Beger (1966), Todd Black (1982), Leila Cehajic (2005), Pramod Dabir (2006), Ryler DeHeart (2006), Bruce Franks (1977), GD Jones (2007), Webb Hayne (1976), Stephen V. Hill (1955), Glenn Hummel (1976), Brianna Knue (2006), Greg Philiotis (1985), John Quarenghi (1987), Claudia Oleson Richards (1974), Emily Wang (2007), Michelle Webb Voss (2003) and Evan Zeder (2005).

Head men's tennis coach Brad Dancer and head women's tennis coach Michelle Dasso, along with all the current members of the Illinois men's and women's tennis teams, would like to extend a special thanks to all the attendees of the 2007 Alumni Weekend.
