CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Daequan Cook scored 13 points to lead No. 6 Ohio State to a 62-44 victory over Illinois on Saturday.

Jamar Butler had 12 points and Ron Lewis added 10 for the Buckeyes (13-2, 2-0 Big Ten), while 7-foot freshman Greg Oden finished with seven points - all in the second half - and 15 rebounds. Oden had a career-high 21 points in Tuesday night's Big Ten-opening win over Indiana.

Warren Carter had 11 points and eight rebounds for Illinois (12-5, 0-2), which has lost three straight for the first time in coach Bruce Weber's three-plus seasons.

Ohio State pulled away late in the first half to take a 36-22 lead and the Buckeyes led by as many as 22 points over the final 20 minutes. Freshman guard Michael Conley Jr. had five points and eight assists for Ohio State,

Butler was 4-for-8 from 3-point range for Ohio State, which was 9-for-29 from beyond the arc and finished with a 48-43 rebound advantage.

Illinois was 3-of-23 from 3-point range with Rich McBride, who had four points, missing all six of his 3-point attempts.
