LAS VEGAS, Nev. - University of Illinois gymnastics team members Adam Pummer, Tyler Yamauchi and Ted Brown all competed in their respective events at the 2006 USA Gymnastics Winter Cup Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 4. Pummer recorded the Illini's highest two-day total with a sixth place finish on parallel bars, 22nd om floor exercise, 24th on pommel horse and 16th on high bar. Brown entered the finals tied for first on pommel horse but feel off the apparatus on the second day to finish tied for 16th. Still rings All-American Yamauchi finished 11th on rings, 25th on pommel horse and tied for 22nd on parallel bars.

Current U.S. Senior National Team member Justin Spring did not compete in the event because of an injury to his knee and will have to wait and see if he retains his spot on the team. Two remaining spots are open for the 14-man team which will be announced by the Men's Program Committee later this week.
