Champaign, Ill. -
Juniors Kevin Anderson and Ryan Rowe continued to roll through the singles draw, each advancing into the third round of the Polo Ralph Lauren/ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., today. Anderson continued to look impressive with his second straight-sets victory, while Rowe came out strong against the tournament's No. 3 seed Travis Helgeson of Georgia, topping the top-five seed in straight sets.
No. 9-16-seed Anderson easily handled Kaden Hensel, a qualifier from Tennessee, in a quick 6-2, 6-4 victory. Rowe, who entered the tournament ranked No. 48 in the preseason poll, disposed of top-10 ranked Helgeson 6-3, 7-6(3). Anderson now faces Adam Holmstrom of Denver in an 11:30 a.m. start in the third round. Holmstrom reached the round of 16 after upsetting the tournament's No. 6 seed Erling Tveit of Mississippi in the second round. Rowe, on the other hand, looks toward another ranked opponent and Big Ten foe in Bryan Koniecko of Ohio State at 11:30 a.m. (CST). No. 9-16-seeded Koniecko will be the fourth ranked opponent Rowe has faced this season out of six matches.
In doubles action, the top-ranked duo took the court against Duke's tandem of Joey Atas and Peter Rodrigues. The match remained close at 3-2, in favor of the pair from Duke. Anderson and Rowe, however, returned to form to take the final six games en route to a 8-3 victory. The duo next faces Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham of Tulsa in the second round.

PREVIEWING TOMORROW'S MATCHES
Junior Kevin Anderson is facing a talented and unseeded Adam Holmstrom of Denver in the third round. This is the second time the Denver player has made the Round of 16, advancing in the draw in 2005 as the No. 44 seed before losing to Treat Huey 6-3, 6-1 in the third round. This will be the first meeting for the two players. Anderson remains unbeaten on the young season at 5-0 entering the third-round match up.
Junior Ryan Rowe is looking impressive as of late, facing three ranked opponents out of five matches played, holding a 2-1 record in those contests. Rowe will now take that record into his next match against Big Ten foe sophomore Bryan Koniecko of Ohio State. The No. 9-16-seeded player is no stranger to tough competition, as he recently received a selection to the 2006 USTA Summer Collegiate Team. This is the first time the two have met on the court during their careers. Rowe is currently holding a 4-1 record on the young season heading into the third-round tilt.
