
Illini Tenth after Two Rounds

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the second straight week, sophomore Seul Ki Park and her Fighting Illini women's golf teammates subtracted more than 10 strokes of their first-round total.
Last weekend, the Orange and Blue decreased their total from 319 to 300; this week, the difference was 13 strokes. Three players - junior Meghan Naik and sophomores Casey Burden and Park - improved their totals by five strokes each from the first round to the second. One over through nine holes, Park parred her final nine holes to card a one-over par 73. Naik and senior Megan Godfrey also finished their back-nines one-over par and +4 overall.
Purdue University (-2) leads the Lady Northern Invitational by 15 strokes and was the only team to break par in the twelve-team field. Boilermaker Maria Hernandez and Illinois State Redbird Samantha Richdale share the overall lead at three-under par 141. A trio of golfers is three strokes behind.
Sunday's shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
