Champaign, Ill. - Illinois women's soccer coach Janet Rayfield announced the cancellation of the team's planned preseason exhibition match with the Canadian National Team scheduled for August 21 because of scheduling conflicts.

The National Team was scheduled to play four collegiate teams across the Midwest, but the three teams besides Illinois had to cancel their matches to comply with the NCAA-mandated maximum number of contests. Therefore, the Canadian squad was not able to make the trip because of financial reasons.

As a result, the Illini will fill the exhibition slot with a match against the CIS U16 boys team on Aug. 13 at 7:30 at Illinois Soccer Stadium. The scrimmage will be free to the public.
