Bradenton, Fla. - Illinois fell behind early in its first game of the day against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, giving up four runs in the first three innings, and never recovered, falling 4-1.

The Illini loaded the bases in the fifth, trailing 4-0, behind leftfielder Drew Davidson's leadoff double, designated hitter J.R. Kyes' base hit up the middle and third baseman Chad Frk being hit by a pitch. But a strikeout and two groundouts later, Illinois had only closed the margin to 4-1.

Davidson led the Illini with his 2-for-3 performance that included a double and a run. Sophomore lefthander Aaron Saving relieved starter Andy Sigerich in the third and faced the minimum number of batters in his scoreless 3 2/3 innings of work.

The Illini face Cornell next at 12:30 p.m. today, a make-up of yesterday's game that was rained out.
