  1. Pierre Thomas had a one-yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter, scoring his sixth of the season.

  2. Thomas and E.B. Halsey continued to move up the all-time rushing list with their performances today. Thomas' 97 yards gave him 1,790 for his career, good for 13th on list while Halsey's 41 yards put him at 1,335 for his career and 21st on the career list.

  3. With 136 all-purpose yards today, Thomas now stands at fifth on the career all-purpose yardage list with 3,364 yards.

  4. Tim Brasic finished with 241 yards passing, the second-highest total of his career (277 yards against Wisconsin on Oct. 29) and the sixth time he's gone over the 200-yard mark this season. He threw five passes over 25 yards, the most in a game this season.

  5. Brasic's 53 yards rushing give him 420 for the season, the highest season rushing total ever for an Illinois quarterback.

  6. Illinois' 440 yards of total offense marks the fourth time the Illini have gone over the 400-yard mark this season.

  7. Steve Weatherford finishes his career as all-time punting yardage leader with 43.5 yards per punt, sixth on the list for career punts with 193, and fourth in career punting yardage with 8,402. Weatherford's season total of 2,856 stands as the fifth-best single season yardage mark in Illinois history.

  8. Numerous players on the Illinois defense had career highs in tackles against Northwestern. Kevin Mitchell had 14 tackles, topping his previous high of 12 against Wisconsin on Oct. 29, James Cooper had 12 tackles, besting the seven he had against Michigan State on Sept. 24, and true freshman Brit Miller also had 12 tackles (11 vs. Ohio State) and notched his first career sack, a 12-yard loss.

  9. Senior fullback Jason Davis scored his first touchdown of the season and sixth of his career with his 27-yard catch in the second quarter.

  10. Freshman receiver Derrick McPhearson caught his first touchdown pass of his career on a 27-yard reception at the 1:52 mark of the second quarter.

  11. DaJuan Warren's 10-yard reception in the first quarter gave him his 13th straight game with a reception dating back to last season's Indiana game.

  12. Kendrick Jones had a season-high 95 yards on three receptions, including a 41-yarder in the second quarter.
