Illinois plays in its final pre-conference tournament of the season this weekend, traveling to the Stanford Classic. The tournament is a five-team round-robin tournament with the third-place and championship games slated for Sunday.
The host Cardinal is ranked No. 13 in the nation and bring a 22-7 record into the week. This will be the first meeting between Illinois and Stanford. The Cardinal had a seven-game winning streak snapped on March 21 with a 3-2 loss to UIC.
Stanford shut out No. 14 Fresno State 7-0 on Wednesday. Illinois lost to Fresno State 3-0 on March 19 in the Kia Classic. The Illini meet Stanford at 4 p.m. CST on Saturday.
The Illini also play BYU (Friday at noon), Hawaii (Friday at 2 p.m.), and UC-Riverside (Saturday at 8 p.m.). The best two records after pool play will compete for the championship on Sunday while the next two best records compete for third place.

General Notes
