Cindy Dallas scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Illinois in a 76-57 defeat at Ohio State on Sunday afternoon. For Dallas that marked her 32nd career double-double.
Angelina Williams added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Illini, who fall to 10-15 overall, 4-10 in the Big Ten. Illinois out-rebounded Ohio State, 42-40, led by 11 boards from Tiffanie Guthrie.
Ohio State led 34-25 at the half and out-scored Illinois 13-4 to start the second half to take a commanding 47-29 advantage. Jere Issenmann nailed a three-point shot to pull Illinois to within 13 at 51-38, but Ohio State scored the next eight points to pull away.
Illinois shot 35.7 percent for the game. Ohio State, one of the leading shooting teams in the Big Ten, was good on 51.8 percent of its shots, including 55.2 percent (16 of 29) in the second half.
Dallas' 10 rebounds give her 980 for her career, moving her past Jill Chapman of Indiana for sixth on the Big Ten's all-time rebounding list. Janelle Hughes, who started at point guard, scored six points and grabbed four rebounds. Erin Wigley reached her average of seven points per game, one of the top five leading scoring freshmen in the conference.
