Illinois' women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season tonight, falling 72-43 at Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Illini fall to 3-1, while UWGB moves its record to 5-0.

With the scored tied at six with 14:31 remaining in the first half, the Phoenix used an 18-0 scoring run to build a sizeable advantage. The Illini were able to cut the lead to 11 on a three-pointer by senior Jere Issenmann with 5:41 to go in the first half, but that would be as close as they would get.

Senior Tiffanie Guthrie led the Illini with 12 points, while Angelina Williams, who entered the game leading the team in scoring at 19.3 points per game, was held scoreless until the 12:50 mark in the second half. She finished as the Fighting Illini's second leading scorer with seven points.

The Illini made 33.9 percent of their shot attempts (19-56) while the Phoenix converted 31-of-61 for 50.8 percent.

The Illini return to action Saturday when they travel to Louisiana Tech, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
