Oct. 6, 2004

Chattanooga, Tenn. - Illinois' Ryler DeHeart advanced to the main draw at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Tournament today in Chattanooga, Tenn. DeHeart is now a perfect 6-0 on the young season.

DeHeart, ranked 95th nationally advanced to the main draw with a victory over William & Mary's Sean Kelleher, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. DeHeart's journey started Monday and also includes wins over Oregon's Aaron Spencer, 6-0, 6-3 and Adam Holmstrom of Denver, 6-3, 6-4.

"I thought he became a little predictable in the second set, which got him in some trouble," associate head coach Brad Dancer said. "When he started mixing things up a bit in the third set is the reason why he is advancing to the main draw."

DeHeart will be joined by 50th ranked Chris Martin in the main draw, who received an automatic bid. DeHeart will also pair with doubles partner GD Jones in the doubles portion of the main draw.
