Lake Forest, Ill. - Illinois finished in eighth place with a 54-hole score of 885 at the competitive Windon Memorial Classic, hosted by Northwestern at the par 71, 6,849-yard Conway Farms Golf Course. Playing in its third tournament of the fall season, the Illini shot rounds of 297, 298 and 290 to finish eighth out of 18 teams. Host Northwestern won the Classic with a score of 865.

Leading the way for the Illini once again was senior Garrett Chaussard. The Millbrae, Calif.-native tied for ninth place with a 4-over par score of 217, shooting rounds of 71-72-74. This is the third straight tournament that Chaussard has been Illinois' top finisher, following his victory at the Northern Intercollegiate and his 13th place finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate. It also marks his ninth career Top-10 finish. The most experienced player on the UI roster, Chaussard has competed in every tournament for the Illini during his career.

Junior Blair Harkins had the strongest showing of his short tenure with the Illini at the Windon Memorial Classic to join Chaussard in the Top 20 of the individual standings. A junior college transfer from Saddleback College in Califronia, Harkins tied for 14th place at 6-over par. Harkins carded rounds of 75, 73 and a career-low 71 en route to his 219 total.

The Illini are back in action Oct. 11-12 at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calf.
