Champaign, Ill. - After the dust settled at the NCAA Regional in Alabama, two Illini were recognized for their efforts this past weekend. Rachelle Coriddi and Erin Jones were named to the All-Regional Team, representing the Illini in their first trip to the NCAA Tournament.

At the plate, Rachelle Coriddi went 6-10 (.600) in the three games combined. She also scored two runs and stole a base. Erin Jones came close to matching her teammate's numbers on the weekend by going 5-11 (.454) with 3 RBI and scored one run. As for their defensive play, both played the entirety of the tournament while committing no errors.

In the debut game in the NCAA Tournament against Georgia Tech, Coriddi and Jones helped the Illini to their first Tournament win by notching 4 of the team's 9 hits in the game. Both players went 2-3, with Jones hitting a bases loaded triple in the first inning to give the Illini the lead early in the game. Coriddi, who spent most of the weekend on base, scored on Jones' triple in the first after a single and also scored a run in the third after her second hit of hit of the game. Coriddi had two hits in all of three games in the Regional.
