Rogers Finishes Sixth On Pommel Horse At Winter Cup

Illinois men's gymnastics co-captain Bob Rogers competed on the pommel horse during the event finals at the U.S Winter Cup Challenge on Saturday evening and scored an 8.250 to take sixth place. Rogers advanced to the finals by finishing in the top eight after the qualifying round on Friday with a 9.200. Nearly 80 gymnasts from the collegiate and national ranks competed in the preliminary rounds.

Rogers' teammate, freshman Adam Pummer competed in the all-around on Friday and finished 28th with a score of 48.100. Former Illinois gymnast Linh Hoang finished fourth on the still rings with a 9.100 in the event finals on Saturday. Hoang scored a 51.000 in the all-around competition on Friday to finish in 11th place.
