Sophomore Dee Brown scored 26 points and delivered seven assists Sunday to lead 13th-ranked Illinois to a 91-66 exhibition game victory over the Illinois All-Stars.
Guard Deron Williams and center Nick Smith were the only other Illini to finish in double figures, with 16 and 12 respectively, as Illinois blew the game wide open in the second half after only leading by one at the break.
Illinois put the game out of reach early in the second half. Leading 39-38 at the half, the Orange and Blue started the second by unleashing a 12-point run to take a 51-38 lead. The Illini used 8-of-13 shooting beyond the arc in the half to safely secure the victory. Illinois outrebounded the Illinois All-Stars 40-to-26.
The Illinois All-Stars were led by Brian Taylor with 14 points. Former Illini, Sergio McClain added eight points.
Illinois finishes up the exhibition schedule Nov. 17 at the Assembly Hall against the Spotlight Jammers at 7 p.m.
