Final Stats

  • Illinois wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 10-1 record overall, 7-0 at the Assembly Hall. In his career at Illinois, Self has compiled a 39-10 non-conference record.

  • The Illinois defense again was stellar as the Illini held Oakland to 33.9 percent shooting (21-of-62). Oakland shot 36.7 percent in the first half and followed that up with 31.3 percent shooting in the second half. In the last-12 halves, Illinois has only allowed an opponent to top 40-percent shooting on three occasions.

  • In addition, Illinois held Oakland to 53 points, their lowest point total of the season and 27 points below their season scoring average of 80.7.

  • Illinois had all-five starters score in double figures. That's the first time Illinois has accomplished the feat this season and the second time Illinois has had five players score in double figures this season.

  • Leading the five Illini in double figures was Brian Cook. Cook led the Illini with 22 points making it the seventh time the senior has led the Illini in scoring. Cook hit 9-of-11 field goal attempts on the game and was a perfect 8-of-8 inside the arc. Cook also added a season-high tying 11 boards, giving him his second double-double of the year and the 10th of his career.

  • Cook scored three of his game-high tying 22 points from the line, however his second free throw attempt missed stopping his consecutive free throw makes streak at 32, tying him for second in Illinois history with Rob Judson, who also made 32 in-a-row. Cook also added his first block of the season.

  • Sean Harrington also equaled the 20-point mark for the second time this season after scoring a career-high tying 20 points thanks to a 5-of-9 shooting night beyond the arc. In his last-two games, Harrington is 11-of-17 from three-point range and is 30-of-57 (52.6 percent) from three for the year. Just for the record, the Illinois single-season record for three-point shooting percent is 49.3 percent (75-of-152) by Tom Michael in 1992. That percentage also places the senior atop the Big Ten three-point shooting percentage charts this season.

  • Freshman James Augustine had a season and career high five blocked shots. That's the ninth-best single-game rejection total in school history. Augustine also has 17 blocks this season, nine of which have come in the last-two games.

  • Deron Williams dished out a game high six assists, leading the Illini who dished out a season high 25 assists on the evening. Illinois also leads the Big Ten in total assists with 216.
