Illinois sophomore shortstop Lindsey Hamma (Wheeling, Ill./Buffalo Grove H.S.) has been named to the to the All-America College Softball Team by the Jewish Sports Review .
An All-Great Lakes Region selection, Hamma ranked second in the Big Ten in batting with a .424 average during conference play and a .429 mark overall. Those numbers increased thanks to a torrid bat in the Big Ten Tournament in which Hamma was 7 for 12 with a double and reached base in seven straight plate appearances. Hamma was named the Illini Team MVP and won the Slugger Award and earned First Team All-Big Ten honors. She posted hitting streaks of 11 and 10 this season. She led the team in hits (75), runs (47), doubles (12), RBI (30), slugging percentage (.509), on-base percentage (.505) and walks (25) during the season.
