Illinois women's basketball promises high flying action this season. Fans will get several chances to get a preview of the Illini this weekend. First the women's basketball team, along with the men, will take part in Midnight Madness at Huff Hall on Friday, October 11. Doors open at 10 a.m. with action on the court starting at 10:30 a.m. There will be games for fans and several special video presentations. The Illini men's and women's teams will then square off in a three-point shooting contest followed by a slam dunk contest featuring the men's players and one women's player, Angelina Williams, who has pulled the trick in practice. Both teams will be introduced and the men's players will scrimmage after midnight. Admission for the night is free.
The following day (Saturday, October 12), the Illini women's team will have an open scrimmage that's free to the public. The scrimmage will be from 9-10 a.m. at the Ubben Basketball Complex. Parking is free in the Ubben lot only and only from 9-10. Please enter off of St. Mary's Road.
