COLUMBUS, Ohio --After the first two rounds of the Kepler Intercollegiate, the Illini are tied with Bowling Green State for 11th place. Both teams shot a total of 616 strokes on the opening day of the tournament at the 71-par, 7,221-yard Ohio State University Scarlet Course. Michigan leads the 17-team field with a 589.
Sophomore Geoff Lound is pacing the Illinois squad. After an opening round of 78, he dropped five strokes on the second 18 to finish the day tied for 25th with a total of 151. Ryan Moore and Evan Olson both finished the day with totals of 156. They are tied for 57th. Junior Chris Dobrovolny is two strokes behind them. His two round total of 158 ties him for 68th. Ryan Tendall is tied for 76th with a 160.
The Illini will try to move up in the standings when they play the final 18 holes of the tournament on Sunday.
