POTTSBORO, Texas --After the first round of the Dr Pepper Intercollegiate was cancelled by heavy rains, the Illini started the tournament with a team total of 305 strokes on Saturday afternoon to finish the day tied for eighth. In the final round today, Illinois posted a 315 at the 72-par, 7,001-yard Tanglewood course to finish 13th with a team total of 620 strokes. Purdue won the 17-team event with a 584.
Senior Tim Riley shot two rounds of 74 to tie for 12th place with a tournament total of 148. After shooting a 74 in the opening round, Geoff Lound came back with a 79 in the final round to tie for 37th (153). Ryan Tendall shot a two-round total of 158 (76-82) to tie for 61st followed by Evan Olson at 163 (T82nd) and Ryan Moore at 164 (84th).
Illinois will host Northwestern and Wisconsin four one round of 18 holes at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana at noon on Saturday (March 31).
