- With 168 yards receiving, Illinois sophomore Brandon Lloyd recorded his
third 100-yard game of the season. The last Illini receiver to top the century
mark three times was Shawn Wax in 1990.
- John Gockman's 51-yard field goal was the first attempt of his Illini
career. It was also the first 50+ field goal made since Neil Rackers hit two
50-yarders in 1999. The last time an Illini kicker connected for 51 yards was
in 1995 when Bret Scheuplein hit one against Wisconsin.
- Brandon Lloyd's two touchdown catches today were the first of his career in
Memorial Stadium. His two TD's in 1999 were caught at Ohio State and
Louisville and he caught two this season at Cal.
- With its 25-14 win this afternoon, Illinois improved to 4-1 for the first
time since 1991.
- With 65 yards rushing this afternoon, Illinois fullback Carey Davis rushed
for a career high on a career-high 12 carries. His previous highs were 38
yards and five carries, both set against Louisville earlier this year.
- Mike Hall's fourth-quarter interception was the first of his Illinois
career.
- With two deflected passes this afternoon, Eugene Wilson continued his
streak of consecutive games with at least one pass broken up. Wilson has now
broken up a pass in eight-straight games.
