The University of Illinois announced today that
men's basketball season tickets are sold out for the 2001-02 season.
Fighting Illini fans purchased a record 16,500 season tickets for the
upcoming season.
"It is great that our fans are excited enough about our
program to sell out the season ticket packages available this
season," Illinois coach Bill Self said. "This will be a boost to the
players and to recruiting. We appreciate everyone's support and
anticipation of this season, which promises to be a great year. Now,
to make the Assembly Hall the best home-court in America, we need all
the seats filled for every game."
Single-game tickets for games not part of the student season
ticket package will be available to the general public beginning Nov.
1. Those games include Nov. 19 vs. Eastern Illinois, Dec. 16 vs.
Western Illinois, Dec. 18 vs. Illinois State, Dec. 29 vs.
Loyola-Chicago, Jan. 2 vs. Minnesota and Jan. 12 vs. Michigan.
Tickets for the Illinois-Arkansas match-up at the United
Center in Chicago will be available beginning at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct.
22, through the UI Athletics Tickets Office. Tickets for the game on
Dec. 8 cost $22 each.
