The Atkins family name is nearly synonymous with Fighting Illini athletics, it's difficult to think of one and not the other. Susie's father worked for 30 years as a technician in the Department of Theoretical and Applied mechanics in the College of Engineering, it's no surprise that Susie became a dyed-in-the-wool Illini fan. Susie and her husband Clint are widely recognized for their philanthropy and of their loyalty to the University of Illinois where they are esteemed members of every level of honor given to donors. The Atkins' generosity is on permanent display in the form of the Atkins Tennis Center, one of the premier tennis facilities in the nation. Susie is a member of the Loyalty Circle and a longtime season ticket holder. Her strong willed belief in providing assistance to others apparently has left an indelible impression on her children as both her sons, Spencer and Todd have joined the Loyalty Circle.
