Champaign, Illinois - University of Illinois sophomore and starting outside hitter Sue Webber (Herscher, Ill./Herscher HS) will undergo surgery Friday to repair a torn ACL in her left knee. With the injury and required surgery, Webber will miss the rest of the 2000 season.

"Sue is a very competitive and spirited individual," Head Coach Don Hardin said. "There is no doubt that she will recover from this in prime fashion."

Webber had played in every rotation of the season for the Illini until injuring her knee early in a September 23rd match at Minnesota. She ranks second on the team in both kills (4.08 per game) and digs (2.16 per game).
