One of the most popular people in East Central Illinois is having dinner and you are invited. Theresa Grentz, head coach of the successful women?s basketball team at the University of Illinois, together with Chef Bruce Dargin, is cooking dinner on Feb. 5, 2000, at 7 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in Champaign.
Cost for the formal event is $100 with proceeds to benefit the Illini?s Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The meal will consist of beef tenderloin with garlic and herb smashed potatoes, roasted Vegetable Napoleon, Baby Frazae salad, lemon sorbet and a raspberry sorbet, topped off with a chocolate decadent torte. Chef Grentz will be on stage to explain to the guests how she prepared the extravagant meal throughout the evening. Illinois players and other ?dignitaries? from the Champaign area will serve has hosts, waiters and waitresses.
