MADISON, Wis. - Senior Jeff Laski and sophomore Jamal Parker are giving a clinic on
how the 23rd-ranked doubles team in the country should perform at the ITA
Regionals Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
Going into the tournament as the No. 2 seed, Laski and Parker have
reached the finals and will take on Wisconsin's Scott Rutherford and David
Chang. The finals are slated for Monday at noon.
In the quarterfinals, the Illini duo eased past John Cheregi and
Andreas Morfiadakis of DePaul 8-2. Taken to three sets, Laski and Parker
came under fire in the semifinals but pulled out the victory, 6-3, 6-7,
6-3, over Butler's Brandon Currie and Jimmy Borendame.
"For the second year in a row, we have performed well in doubles,"
Head Coach Craig Tiley said. "Jeff (Laski) and Jamal (Parker) are proving
why they are one of the top teams in the region."
