NORMAL, Ill. - Clemson volleyball head coach Jolene Jordan-Hoover was inducted into the Illinois State Athletics Hall of Fame in conjunction with the school's homecoming ceremonies last weekend.

"This is most certainly a distinguished Hall of Fame class," said ISU athletics director Perk Weisenburger of the inductees, which included Hoover and former Illinois State football player Clarence Collins. "What is most encouraging is the fact that they have used their undergraduate experience at Illinois State to move into successful professional endeavors."

The winningest volleyball coach in Clemson history, Hoover has a record of 157-60 over her seven seasons at Clemson. She earned her 250th career win last Friday when the Tigers defeated Georgia Tech 3-1, pushing her career record to 250-91. Under Hoover's direction the Tigers won the 1997 Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball championship, the school's first conference title in volleyball, and have earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament four of the last six seasons.

Hoover, the 1997 ACC Coach of the Year, was a three-time All-Gateway Conference performer during her playing days at Illinois State and the league's Player of the Year in 1985. The Redbirds won Gateway titles and made NCAA appearances in all four of her seasons. Over her final three seasons, Illinois State was 101-30 and was ranked as high as ninth nationally.

Hoover still ranks among Illinois State's all-time statistical leaders in nine different categories, including ranking second with 354 block assists, second with 190 block solos, third with 435 total blocks, fourth with 190 service aces and fifth with 2,197 assists.
