Illinois’ leading wide receiver during his collegiate career, Brandon Lloyd earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2001 when the Illini won the Big Ten title and played in the Nokia Sugar Bowl. He finished his Illini career with the second-most receiving yards (2,835) and touchdown catches (21) while ranking third in all-time receptions (160). Lloyd also earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2002 when he again had 65 receptions. He topped 1,000 yards receiving during both his redshirt sophomore and junior seasons, and had more than 100 receiving yards 12 times during his Illini career. After missing his true sophomore season in 2000 with a leg injury, Lloyd returned for two outstanding years before his long pro football run. He declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season in 2002 and was chosen in the fourth round by the 49ers. Lloyd played 11 seasons in the NFL and was second-team All-Pro in 2010 while with Denver when he was selected to play in the 2011 Pro Bowl. He was the NFL receiving leader in 2010 with 1,448 yards.
