Education: 
Janes is a 2023 graduate of the University of Illinois, where he earned his degree in journalism.

Responsibilities: 
Janes writes feature stories on all of Illinois' DIA teams as well as staff surrounding the programs as a brand storyteller. He provides gameday press releases assistance for football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Janes also serves as a proofreader to content on FightingIllini.com.

In 2024, Janes was honored in the College Sports Communicators Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest with four submissions selected as Best in the District. His winners were for Best Coach Profile, General Feature, Season Recap, and Social Justice Feature.

Past Experience:
Janes served as a student worker in a similar feature writing role in the athletics communication office during the 2022-23 academic year.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Janes now resides in Champaign.
