Education:

Aleck earned his bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science & Strategic Communication from TCU in 2015 and a master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University Chicago in 2018.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Aleck currently works with and oversees all strength and conditioning programming for the Fighting Illini baseball, men's gymnastics, and women's gymnastics.

 

Past Experience:

Prior to joining Illinois, Aleck spent five years in professional baseball with the Los Angeles Angels & Philadelphia Phillies organizations. He was responsible for the programming, implementation, and tracking of performance training through various affiliate levels. Aleck was named the Southern League Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2022.

Prior to his time in professional baseball, he worked at a performance facility in Texas assisting with NFL Combine prep training and rehabilitation programs for various return to play athletes within the professional, collegiate, and high school levels.

Additionally, Aleck worked at the University of Texas as a graduate Strength & Conditioning Coach with Longhorns Baseball and as an intern at UCLA with Olympic Sports.

 

Personal:

Henry Aleck resides in Champaign with his wife, Casey, and their son, Hunter. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC-CSCS) and currently serves on the Executive Council for NSCA baseball special interest group. Additionally, he holds certifications with USA Weightlifting, Functional Range Conditioning (FRCms), and first aid, CPR, and AED.
