Education:
Taylor received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University.

Job Responsibilities:
Taylor oversees DIA’s student-athlete management initiatives arising from the House Settlement. His duties encompass oversight of revenue sharing, name, image, and likeness (NIL) contracts, roster administration, financial aid, housing, and coordination of student-athlete protective insurance programs. Additionally, Taylor provides support for third-party NIL operations and disclosure processes. He contributes to coach contract management, collective bargaining agreements, and advances departmental objectives by leading and assisting with a range of administration projects.

Past Experience:
Taylor joined the Illini as Assistant Director of Compliance, Monitoring in 2016 and was later named Director of Compliance in, 2019 where he developed and conducted a comprehensive rules education program for baseball, football, men’s and women’s golf, soccer, softball, men’s and women’s track and field, cross country and all internal units of DIA. He also served as DIA’s gambling liaison and assisted with governmental affairs.

In 2022, Taylor was named Assistant AD, Human Resources and Employee Experience where he directed the administration of day-to-day human resources operations and developed, implemented and improved strategies to attract, engage, retain and reward coaching and administrative talent.

Before joining the Illini Compliance staff, Taylor was the Assistant Director of Compliance at Central Michigan University, where he was responsible for all faucets of the compliance office for CMU’s 18 athletic programs.

Taylor also worked as the Compliance Coordinator at the University of Tennessee. Some of his duties included monitoring recruiting activities, playing and practice seasons as well as assisting with initial eligibility.

Taylor’s compliance experience began as an undergraduate student with an internship at his alma mater where he later served as a graduate assistant, as well.

Personal:
A native of Harrison, Michigan, Taylor is married to Katie Taylor, DIA’s Assistant AD of Event Management. The couple resides in Savoy with two daughters.
