Education:
Anderson is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she earned her degree in electronic media and communications.
Responsibilities:
Anderson serves as the primary media contact for Illinois Volleyball and Softball.
Past Experience:
Anderson comes to Illinois after spending time in Queens, N.Y., where she served as the primary contact for the women's basketball, women's soccer and men's and women's golf programs at St. John’s.
Anderson joined the Red Storm after working as a director of communications at FIU for two years. In this capacity, she handled primary sport responsibilities for men's basketball, volleyball and beach volleyball while serving as a secondary contact for the Panthers' football program.
From early 2017 until the fall of 2019, Anderson covered of the volleyball, softball, cross country and track & field programs at New Mexico State as an assistant director of media relations. She also worked in a secondary capacity with the Aggies women's basketball team. Anderson provided coverage for seven conference championships won by the Aggies (regular season and tournament) between the volleyball (2), softball (4) and cross country (1) programs.
Before heading to Las Cruces, Anderson spent time as a media relations assistant at the office of the American Athletic Conference in Providence. In this capacity, she worked as a conference liaison for women's soccer, softball and men's and women's tennis while also assisting in coverage of women's basketball and swimming & diving.
Anderson's first full-time experience in collegiate athletics began in August of 2015 when she joined the Murray State staff as a media relations assistant, serving as the primary contact for women's soccer, cross country, men's and women's tennis and women's track & field.
Anderson got her start in athletics communications as an undergraduate at Texas Tech, where she spent two years as a student intern with the Red Raiders.
Personal:
A native of Montgomery, Texas, Anderson now resides in Champaign, Ill., with her rescue dog MoMo.
